Toyota Investment Drives Innovation
New Lab Will Train Future Engineering Technologists
A new partnership with Toyota Motor North America will strengthen STEM education at A&M-San Antonio. The company recently gifted $25,000 to support the development of a state-of-the-art laboratory for the University’s Electronic Systems Engineering Technology (ESET) program.
The new Programmable Logic Controller Lab, expected to open in Fall 2027 in the Science and Technology building, will provide students with hands-on experience with the same types of industrial technologies that power modern manufacturing and automation systems.
ESET prepares students for careers in industries such as manufacturing, avionics, medical electronics, energy, and infrastructure. Graduates are equipped for roles such as engineering technologists, technicians, and specialists in product development and manufacturing.
As A&M-San Antonio expands its STEM programs, collaborations like this help ensure students graduate ready to meet workforce needs.
