News From A&M Building Logo

Dr. OchoaThis edition of ¡Adelante! holds a special place in my heart, as it focuses on the exciting future we are building at Texas A&M University-San Antonio — the future of our campus, our students and our community. I am very proud to share that our future now has a clear roadmap, which is laid out in our brand-new strategic plan, TAMUSA 2030: All In.

I call it “our strategic plan” because that is what it truly is. All In is the next chapter for our University, and it will take all of us working together to achieve our goals. It is focused around six pillars that you will see woven throughout this edition — and every future edition. You’ll get to see how our faculty, staff and students envision building a destination campus through their ideas for the TAMUSA of Tomorrow.

Our goals of connecting with the community and growing our student population are on full display as we walk you through our approach to strengthening the education pipeline, where ambition meets access at A&M-San Antonio. This starts very early in a child’s education and will soon include the opening of our new child care and teaching facility, Educare.

You’ll learn more about how we are building strong leaders from within through our employee Leadership Academy, which supports our goal of fostering employee fulfillment and excellence, and in turn is critical to our commitment to supporting student success.

Last, you’ll read a lot about the exceptional scholarly and creative work that our faculty are doing, earning national and international recognition and making valuable contributions in new and exciting fields of research that advance our goal of achieving academic distinction.

These interconnected pillars help us forge a bold path forward. This is only the first step, and as our plan continues to take shape, I look forward to sharing updates on our progress. Together, we will fulfill the promises we have made to ourselves and our community and most importantly, help our students reach their full potential.

Sincerely,

 Ochoa Signature
