Historic Academic Milestone

Less than a year after announcing its first doctoral degree, A&M-San Antonio began accepting applications for its inaugural Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership program.  

The fully online program welcomed its first cohort in Fall 2026. Designed with working professionals in mind, the flexible program features year-round coursework and will prepare educators for leadership roles such as principals, superintendents and curriculum directors.  

The doctorate focuses on helping educational leaders address challenges facing schools throughout South Texas and beyond. Future specialization tracks in early childhood education, special education, and bilingual education will provide students with advanced, interdisciplinary training aligned with the region's workforce needs.  

The launch marks a historic milestone for A&M-San Antonio, expanding its academic offerings and strengthening its role as a leader in preparing the next generation of educators.
