Alumnus Creates First Endowed Scholarship
LeWayne Ballard Creates Lasting Legacy for First-Generation Students
Alumnus LeWayne Ballard is creating a lasting impact for future generations by establishing the University’s first alumni-endowed scholarship.
Ballard, who earned a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems in 2013 and an MBA in 2014, created the LeWayne Ballard Leave Your Legacy Endowed Scholarship. The $50,000 endowment will provide ongoing support for first-generation students who demonstrate a commitment to serving their communities.
A successful technology leader, Ballard currently serves as chief technology officer at Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson. Throughout his career, he has remained connected to A&M-San Antonio and has supported the University through charitable giving and community involvement.
For Ballard, creating an endowed scholarship is a deeply personal commitment. As a first-generation college graduate, he understands the importance of opportunity and support in helping students achieve their goals.
The scholarship will provide immediate assistance through annual gifts while the endowment grows, eventually creating a permanent source of support for Jaguars pursuing their education.
Through his generosity, Ballard is helping ensure future students have the resources and encouragement needed to succeed.
