High School Students Earn College Credit Before Graduation
Nearly 80 high school students celebrated a major academic milestone during A&M-San Antonio’s inaugural Dual Credit and Early College High School Recognition Ceremony. The event honored students from Harlandale STEM Early College High School and Southwest Preparatory Early College High School who earned 42 or more college credit hours before graduating high school.
Some students began their college journey as early as age 13, attending classes on the A&M-San Antonio campus while completing their high school requirements. Through dual credit and early college programs, students earn both high school and college credit while gaining firsthand experience in a university environment.
Taught by University faculty and supported by campus resources, these Jaguars-in-training are building confidence, developing college-level skills, and accelerating their path toward a degree.
